Karen - Registered Dental Hygienist

karen

Karen began her dental career as a dental assistant in 1985. Because of her love for dentistry, she pursued a dental hygiene degree and graduated in 1992 from Valencia Community College. She has been a member of the team since 2003. Karen finds her job rewarding by participating in continuing education classes to enhance her knowledge of dentistry. She is dedicated to helping her patients maintain their teeth for a lifetime through patient education... this she finds most rewarding. Five years ago, her dad was diagnosed with oral cancer. He didn't have any risk factors. He had major surgery and radiation and is now almost at his five-year mark of being cancer-free! Karen feels it is important to educate her patients about oral cancer and what they can do to prevent it. She is passionate about informing our patients about early detection with the use of the VELScope.

Karen also enjoys spending time with her husband, three daughters, one son, and friends. Her other interests include photography, crafts, cooking, reading, and walking. Her favorite vacations are the Disney parks, cruises and going to North Carolina. In 2010, she and her husband celebrated their 25th wedding anniversary. She also had fun participating in the Relay for Life "Dental Divas" team in April 2013.

Lauderdale to take on a position with an office that was a perfect fit in her philosophy of total wellness. She moved to the Orlando area in 1991 and is one of the newest members of the Artisan Dental team. She is so excited to once again have the opportunity to work in an office where she can make a difference. She believes that the mouth is the mirror image of your overall health.
